TRIPPY TRAIL

AUGUST 21TH/ 22TH 2026
BOLZANO, ITALY
AN IMMERSIVE TRAIL RUNNING EXPEDITION THROUGH THE ITALIAN DOLOMITES
TRIPPY TRAIL IS A FIXED-ROUTE, UNSUPPORTED, SINGLE-STAGE TRAIL RUNNING EXPEDITION WITH 50 KM AND 100 KM COURSES STARTING AND FINISHING AT NIGERPASS. THE ROUTE CROSSES THE HIGHEST RANGES OF THE ITALIAN DOLOMITES, STITCHING TOGETHER REMOTE RIDGELINES, EMPTY VALLEYS AND PLACES MOST PEOPLE WILL NEVER REACH. EXPECT LONG STRETCHES ABOVE TREELINE, TECHNICAL TRAILS, EXPOSED SECTIONS AND HONEST HIKE-A-RUN. IN SHARP CONTRAST TO THE TERRAIN'S SEVERITY, CAREFULLY CHOSEN RIFUGIOS OPEN THEIR DOORS AS CHECKPOINTS OFFERING HOSPITALITY, FOOD, DRINKS AND SHELTER.

NOTE FOR THE BRAVE. WE BEND THE DEFINITION OF TRAIL RUNNING HERE. IT'S A SERIOUS UNDERTAKING AND YOU'LL ALMOST CERTAINLY SET YOUR SLOWEST TIME EVER ON THIS COURSE.

IT'S WORTH
the climb

The checkpoints are the heart of the expedition. We've partnered with traditional Rifugios (high-altitude mountain huts) as they're the perfect spot to recharge, share stories and gather strength for the next epic climb. All Rifugios serve delicious food at reasonable prices and many also offer cozy overnight stay options (mostly only pre-booked).

Participants will need to get their Brevet Card - or as we call it Mission Log - stamped at each Rifugio to complete the full route and officially get the TRIPPY TRAIL approval in Bolzano. All Rifugios operating as checkpoints will be released closer to departure.

TRIPPY TRAIL MANIFESTO

# 1 LEAVE NO TRACE - BE A RESPONSIBLE GALACTIC CITIZEN

1.1 Leave the TRIPPY TRAIL planet exactly as you found it – take nothing but memories and leave nothing but your footprint.
1.2 The #noflightrun rule is law. Start and finish this journey without the carbon footprint of a space shuttle. Keep it grounded – literally.
1.3 You'll most likely face animals on your expedition. Stay quiet, keep your distance and let them chart their own course.
1.4 Not yours, still your planet. If you see trash and litter, carry it out.
1.4 Our galactic code does not tolerate prejudice: racism, sexism, nationalism and any form of discrimination have no place on this mission. If you don't align with this, better stay on your home planet.

# 2 TRAVEL EQUALLY - YOUR LEGS ARE YOUR FUEL

2.1 All forward travel must be 100 % human-powered.
2.2 Running together? Absolutely! Mental support? Even better! Just remember, it's a solo mission when it comes to external help.
2.3 No third-party outside assistance! Everything you need - food, drinks, gear - must be carried or acquired from commercial services. Plan wisely and check for resupply points & opening hours before you depart.
2.4 Pre-booked services? Not really our style, but if it helps you, go for it.
4.5 Generally keep it fair, stay self-sufficient and enjoy a cosmic adventure.

# 3 FOLLOW THE ROUTE

3.1 Stick to the route – from liftoff to landing. Think of it as your interstellar flight plan.
3.2 Temporary detours (to refuel, rest, or snack) are allowed, but you must return to the exact spot where you left the route to continue your mission.
3.3 No shortcuts! Trust us, it won’t feel good in the end.

# 4 ONE MISSION, NO COUNTDOWN

4.1 This is a single-stage trail running expedition. The clock never stops. You decide when to rest and when to keep flying.
4.2 Every finisher is celebrated – no matter how long the journey takes, as long as the galactic code is followed.

# 5 RECORD YOUR JOURNEY

5.1 Tracking will be available via Racemap. All participants have to download the app and record the run with a mobile phone.
5.2 If any data gets lost in the warp, we might need to check your GPX log.
5.3 Keep your Mission Log clean and collect all appropriate stamps at the checkpoints.

# 6 RUN SAFELY & SPACE-FRIENDLY

6.1 The following equipment is mandatory and must be carried at all times:
- trail shoes with a grippy sole
- waterproof jacket
- clothes that fully cover your body
- headlamp with spare/ rechargeable batteries
- water capacity of 1 l
- first aid kit
- mobile or navigation watch for routing
6.4 All participants must have a valid liability, death, accident and health insurance valid during the event that covers emergency extraction and repatriation insurance.

INFO

REGISTRATION

TRIPPY TRAIL is an unparalleled adventure that tests what’s possible on foot. Set in a breathtakingly rugged yet stunningly beautiful environment, this journey demands resilience, self-reliance, and a passion for exploration.
This is a true test of endurance, requiring participants to conquer back-to-back long days on foot while navigating the challenges of a high-altitude, mountainous terrain. Riders must be prepared to face exhaustion and make crucial decisions in a demanding, unpredictable environment where self-sufficiency is key.
While we encourage runners with (multi-day) trail running experience, this isn’t an expedition reserved for only the most elite. TRIPPY TRAIL is open to determined adventurers ready to embrace the challenge and commit to their safety and the safety of others.
To ensure every participant is prepared for the unique demands of this journey, we’ve introduced a comprehensive application process. The mandatory first part of the questionnaire focuses on real-life scenarios you may encounter during TRIPPY TRAIL, testing your decision-making skills and readiness for the challenges ahead. The second part, optional but encouraged, allows us to learn more about you and why you’ve chosen TRIPPY TRAIL over countless other incredible trail running events. The questionnaire must be completed until August 15th. We’ll carefully review all responses and, in the case of failure, invite you to attend a mandatory online briefing closer to the event to ensure everyone’s safety (and hopefully) success.
We’ll be implementing ticket stages this year to enhance our planning security while giving you the opportunity to save money by planning early. The last ticket stage will close on August 15th 2026.
The LOCAL RIDER TICKET is for riders who live in Italy or in any country outside the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland). Pricing reflects the generally lower average income levels outside the DACH region.
The idea is to support individuals with tighter budgets and make TRIPPY TRAIL more accessible with the help of the entire Orbit360 community. If possible, consider leaving a donation at checkout to contribute to the COSMIC CARE FUND. Every donation will be matched by the organiser to help the fund grow quickly. Big hugs to everyone who contributes - you are amazing!

The COSMIC CARE FUND will be filled by buyers who are able to leave a little extra support in addition to the normal entry price. If the COSMIC CARE FUND is not sufficiently filled, COSMIC CARE tickets will temporarily not be available for purchase. Any remaining funds in the COSMIC CARE FUND will be donated to The Generation Forest.
All tickets can be cancelled until 8 days before the event at no costs. Simply write a short mail to info@hoemepage.com and they'll take over from here and make sure you'll get your money back within 7 days.
We must ask you to provide a medical note signed by your doctor to certify that you are in good physical health and able to undertake the demands of the event. The certificate must be valid at the date of the event and both the stamp and signature of your doctor have to be present on the certificate.
Yes, we want you to be safe. Therefore, we require you to bring
- trail shoes with a grippy sole
- waterproof jacket
- clothes that fully cover your body
- headlamp with spare/ rechargeable batteries
- water capacity of 1 l
- first aid kit
- mobile or navigation watch for routing
At ORBIT360, we believe that meaningful outdoor experiences shouldn't come at the expense of the environment. TRIPPY TRAIL is a no-flight event because air travel is one of the largest contributors to individual carbon footprints — especially when it comes to short trips across Europe. By encouraging participants to travel by train, bike, or other low-emission means, we aim to keep the ecological impact of the event as low as possible. It's our way of aligning the spirit of adventure with climate responsibility — and showing that breathtaking experiences in the mountains are still possible without taking to the skies. Let’s ride responsibly — for the planet and for future generations.

START & FINISH

Departure/ finish: Bolzano > Nigerpass
Accreditation and briefing: August 20th for ADVENTURE runners;
August 21st CLASSIC runners
Departure ADVENTURE: August 21st, 6 am
Departure CLASSIC: August 22nd, 6 am
Finish: No cut off, but a finisher party on Sunday evening at Ahoi Minigolf in Bolzano.
Start and finish will be at Ahoi Minigolf in Bolzano. It’s a lovely place with many amenities – they are offering food and drinks as well as a meadow to pitch your tent.
Yes, but they are not around the corner. Rather come by train.
Each runner can leave a small bag at the start/ finish location. We will collect all bags at accreditation. In case of a withdrawal, you will need to reach the finish line to collect your belongings.

ROUTE

TRIPPY TRAIL is an adventure trail running event. The route bends the definition of trail running and participants might find themselves on a hike-a-run every now and then. There are many steep and serious up- and downhill sections involved and appropriate running or hiking skills are absolutely essential.
TRIPPY TRAIL will be a fixed route with mandatory checkpoints (Rifugios) to pass.
Yes, quite a lot to be fair. The checkpoints are one of the fundamental parts of the expedition. We decided to work together with the traditional Rifugios (high-elevation mountain huts) as they are the perfect location to recover, exchange stories and gather new energy for the next big, big climb. All Rifugios offer super delicious food at a reasonable price and most of them have overnight stay options (mostly only pre-booked).
Scouting is done. But there’s still plenty of time until departure. Therefore, we’ll go back and do one last check up in early summer. The final route and Runner Handbook will be sent out to all participants in July 2026.
Yes, we will provide return routes back to Bolzano for everyone who will not be able to finish (for whatever reason). The return routes will be available after the last scouting/ check up trip, early summer 2026.

V.I.B.E.S.

Let’s put it this way: we love to run hard, but we love to chill hard, too. TRIPPY TRAIL will likely be one of the toughest challenges out there, but it’s not just about a demanding route. We want to inspire people to take the next step - something they wouldn’t have dreamed of not long ago. An expedition like TRIPPY TRAIL can unleash incredible strength and we’re here to help you tap into that power by pushing you in the most supportive and uplifting way possible.
The Party Pace Patrol is a group of runners who are staying in the peloton, deluvering some slow-releasing dopamine and emotional support, just for that extra fun along the way. If you're dreaming of joining an ultimate trail running adventure like TRIPPY TRAIL but feel a little lost in the vastness of the unknown - whether it's running or sleeping alone or just being on your own - don't worry. We'll provide a mission-approved, inclusive experience that provides the extra boost of security you need to go where only a few have gone before.
Just send us an email with a few words about yourself and why you want to be part of the Party Pace Patrol. We are looking for all kinds of runners who have experience in multi-day trail running events and are fairly confident they’ll finish TRIPPY TRAIL, no matter how tough the circumstances.
We’re a bit bored with the rigid "guidelines" of unsupported trail running races and we aren't even starting with ITRA points... For us, it's more about the experience and the community rather than imposing strict rules on runners. We want to encourage runners to spend time together and share this adventure.
We don’t want to impose unnecessary rules that make your life harder - the route is tough enough as it is. However, to keep things fair, we ask all runners to follow two simple rules:
1. No outside assistance.
2. No pre-booked overnight stays at the checkpoints to ensure every rider has the same opportunity for sleeping arrangements. There are plenty of other overnight options along the route - feel free to pre-book those if it gives you peace of mind.
That’s just part of the game. Try to fix it yourself. If that’s not possible, you can go to a mechanic by any means of transport - but you must return to the exact point where you left the route before continuing.
If you follow the GPS route provided by us you should be safe and sound. However, if anything happens, try to find the route on your GPS or your phone (please download off-line maps on your phone before the departure). It’s kind of the game to get lost and find a solution: self-sufficiency consists of using your own means to solve your own problems. If you are within cellular reception, please call us immediately. Contact information will be given during the briefings and will be printed on your brevet card. If none of these options are available to you, due to tracker malfunction, you will need to find your own assistance.
With Orbit360, we’ve been running the “Super OrbiterIn” bursary since the very beginning. This bursary is designed to make all Orbit360 events, including TRIPPY TRAIL, more inclusive and accessible to those who might not otherwise have the means to participate. It aims to introduce new people to the event and community while amplifying stories from underrepresented or seldom-heard voices.

CHECKPOINTS & RESUPPLY

Yes, all Rifugios serve delicious food at reasonable prices and many also offer cozy overnight stay options (mostly pre-booked needed).
If you prepare the route properly you will have no problem finding plenty of water and food. But remember, try to self-serve food for a day and refill your bottles whenever you can.
Scouting is done. But there’s still plenty of time until departure. Therefore, we’ll go back and do one last check up in early summer. The final route and Runner Handbook will be sent out to all participants in July 2026.
